Peanut Butter Drive - September is National Hunger Action Month. Ojus Elementary School and Ojus PTA will be partnering with the Cheesecake Factory to host a Peanut Butter Drive to support local Feeding America food banks. This drive is scheduled to take place in September. Exact dates will be announced. Please send in jars of peanut butter (or other types of protein butters) to your child's homeroom teacher. The PTA will collect the donations from the classrooms and the top 2 classes that bring in the most peanut butter will receive a "cheesecake party." Start stocking up when you see buy on get one free deals at the grocery stores. This food drive does a lot of good for the hungry in our community!
Adopt A Class Program - This program allows families to donate money to their child's class, a school department or the Principal's special purpose fund to purchase educational materials not provided by the Miami Dade County School System. These items may include software, books, special learning items and classroom supplies. Any donated amount will be welcomed by your child's teacher to fulfill the class wish list and will be acknowledged by the school. Contact PTA to learn more about this program.
Water and Juice Drive - We appreciate donations of packages of water and juice. These will be used for events throughout the school year. There is a Drive taking place from dates to be announced, where the three classes with the most juice and water donated will receive a pizza party. If you missed the drive and would still care to make a donation, we are happy to accept your donations. Send the juice in to your child's teacher, the front office or the parent drop-off/pick-up area (PE area.) Juice and water donations are gladly accepted throughout the year as well.
Box Tops for Education - You are probably already buying products with these labels on them. Please cut the Box Tops, save them in an envelope until you have a batch of 50 and then bring them in to Ms. Graham in the Media Center. Ojus Elementary will receive 10 cents a piece for each Box Top received!. Learn more about Box Top program. - Status: on 7/15/14 our submission of $635 was processed. On 8/17/15 our submission of $633.10 was processed. On 11/2016 our submission of $790.80 was processed. That is free money for our school! Thanks for saving your Box Tops.

Chuck E. Cheese School Fundraising Card - Here is how it works: Purchase a Chuck E. Cheese school fund raising card from Ojus PTA. Bring your card with you every time you go. Get your cards stamped on each visit. Receive 10 free tokens or 15 free tickets on each visit. On your 10th visit you will receive a free individual size cheese pizza. This is a $23.50 value. Your cost is only $10. Ojus receives $5 from each card purchased. Contact Ojus PTA for more details or to purchase.
Take Charge of Education - Do you have a Target REDCard? Target and Target.com will donate 1% of registered REDCard purchases back to our school. Ojus Spirit Nights
We have a lot of great opportunities this year to Dine Around Town. Enjoy this great opportunity to skip making dinner and instead bring the family for a fun night out. You will have the opportunity to meet and greet other Ojus parents, faculty and staff. Your kids will have an opportunity to socialize with their peers outside of a classroom setting. For many events we will be planning on having additional entertainment, contests and raffles. If you are interested in acting as a volunteer for any particular event, please let us know. Each restaurant that we work with will provide a percentage of the evenings earnings back to Ojus Elementary.
