It is EASY to help us earn FREE MONEY for Ojus Elementary. Will you help?
Many of the products that you buy already have Box Top for Education labels on them. Please cut them out as you use the product, save them in an envelope or baggie until you have 50 box tops and have you child bring the box tops in to Miss Graham in the media center. Each child who brings a batch of box tops will receive a special treat. Learn More
UPDATE: Thank you for all of the support. Our school will get a check for $790.80 from box top submissions. These funds will go to purchase new library books for our students.
Congratulations to Miss Phillias' class for collecting the most box tops in our last contest. Her class will be rewarded with a pizza party.
Box top collection is ongoing. A new contest is starting for the 2017. Our goal is to reach $1,500 by the end of the school year. Please help us. Keep saving your box tops! Collect them from relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers!
Scholastic Develop Parent Support Resource
Learning Heroes, in conjunction with The National Parent Teacher Association and Scholastic, have released "The Super 5" an interactive checklist designed to help parents foster a deeper understanding of what their child is learning at school and how to best assist them at any grade level. The checklist features nearly 20 links to resources focusing on a wide arrange of communications issues, including the best ways for parents to define what "success" is for their child in the upcoming school year; how to have a highly effective parent-teacher conversation; and, detailed information on the standardized tests in each state. The checklist also features guides for parents to identify if their child is being bullied at school, and to help them better understand the social challenges that their kids face as they grow up in a highly connected and tech-savvy world.
Ojus Elementary has earned a silver school "STEM" designation
The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program is designed to introduce our students, at an early age, to fields of study that will be in high demand. We teach our students to be problem solvers and logical thinkers by peeking their natural interest and curiosity in exploring how things work though involvement in fun, experiential, engaging activities, starting at a young age. We strive to create a lifetime love of learning for your child.
